Ancient Tuscan Oil Press of “Rio Grifone” The most ancient and at the selfsame time most “modern” Oil press of Monte Pisano is named after the stream that runs alongside it (that is, the Rio Grifone) which turned its millstones until the beginning of the last century. The Ancient Tuscan Oil Press of “Rio Grifone” is situated on the ground floor of the farm "Il Frantoio di Vicopisano". It uses the typical pressing method, strictly and entirely “cold-pressed” with two parallel systems which perform: defoliation, washing, grinder and/or crusher, beating, decanter, centrifuge, acidity, peroxide and polyphenol analysis, storage in stainless steel basins in a protected environment and stable temperature under 1>° C and direct bottling in the cellar immediately prior to marketing. The Ancient Tuscan Oil Press of “Rio Grifone” is also part of the 5T Academy (Territory, Tradition, Typicality, Traceability, Transparence) and of the “Master oil-makers” as well as being the constituent member of the TUSCAN Oil Consortium and the Strada dell’Olio (Oil Route) of Monte Pisano. The Organic farming certificate was issued by BioAgricert. A part of the harvest of the best olive growers of Monte Pisano who press their olives with our oil press is used to produce the Extra virgin Olive Oil of Rio Grifone, which is marketed in various typologies and packages: - Rio Grifone TUSCAN-I.G.P.-Monte Pisani: 500 ml and 3 liter tin cans; - Rio Grifone ORGANIC: 500 ml and 5 liter tin cans; - Rio Grifone Classic: 5 liter tin cans.
